Jonesville Downtown Strategic Master Plan Town of Jonesville, SC

Project Overview

Studio Main led the Town of Jonesville through a comprehensive Strategic Master Plan funded by the Municipal Association of South Carolina Hometown Economic Development Grant. As part of the grant, Studio Main led Mayor, Council, Advisory Committee Members, stakeholders, property owners, business owners, and members of the public through a six-month planning process that developed strategic marketing and branding, studied retail market analysis, and conceptualized short and long-term goals for priority projects.

As the heart of Union County, South Carolina, “It’s a whole new ball game” in Jonesville, South Carolina. The Strategic Master Plan focused on four priority areas: future residential development along Highway 176, Historic Jonesville Park (former textile mill), Downtown Business District, and the Municipal Hub. These four areas were conceptualized with retail market analysis data to determine short-term strategies for implementation. Jonesville Park, located on a former textile mill, connects USC-Union Bantams to Downtown Jonesville via a shared-use path. The park site amenities include new playgrounds, picnic pavilions, centralized parking, and educational and historical signage. The historic Downtown Business District and Municipal Hub are completed with new streetscape elements to reinforce the branding, with new businesses, outdoor dining, festival streets, and investment areas for future buildings.
