Sanctified Hill Park is positioned as the only City of Fountain Inn Park and Recreation Facility in Laurens County and is located in the historically African-American district – Sanctified Hill. Sanctified Hill Park was originally a city landfill until its proper closing in the 1960’s. After years of clean-up and remediation, the City constructed a basketball court and parking but never provided the requested or required amenities. In one of the fastest growing areas of Fountain Inn and Laurens County, this park as become a needed amenity.
Studio Main was procured to provide master planning, public input and stakeholder coordination, and landscape architectural services. Studio Main walked the client team through a charrette process – a three-day process where Studio Main staff developed multiple concepts for review. On day three of the charrette, the Fountain Inn Police Department held a block party with free food, inflatables, music and family fun. Studio Main set up a table and tent to discuss with residents the design process and receive feedback on the multiple concepts presented. The final concept includes:
