Project Overview
Dolly Cooper Park, the northernmost Anderson County Park, is positioned along the Saluda River in the unincorporated area of Powdersville. Studio Main and SPI have provided master planning, construction documentation, and construction administration for various projects since 2013 – ADA kayak launch (first in South Carolina), baseball field, football field, shared-use path, and stormwater master planning.
In 2019, Studio Main was procured to provide master planning, public input and stakeholder coordination, and landscape architectural services. Studio Main walked the client team through a year-long master planning process with multiple drop-in meetings, Zoom interviews, and on-line and hard-copy surveys to ensure that the community’s desires were established as part of the final plan. The final concept includes:
- Formalized parking
- ADA accessible walking trail
- Playgrounds (3-5/5-12)
- Dog park
- Picnic Shelters
- Restroom
- ADA kayak launch
- Pickleball courts
- Additional baseball and multi-purpose fields
